Notice, I said ‘Dream’ Job, not Just ‘Job’
It’s a given: in this day and age (as well as other times) more and more people are having to choose that ‘oddball’ job: the one that should only be temporary – and for those who are college graduates with degrees, lots of borrowed debt (I’m with you all), and took that chance for that dream (in, obviously, the most inopportune time in our lives) – these jobs get us further into debt because of the interest that accumulates. Along with the depression, sacrifice, lower wage (no benefits most of the time either), loss of family and personal life and time, we get to that point of losing our inspiration in life.
Don’t worry, with all that’s happened in my life this year, I can relate. Things have not been in the favor of those aspiring for the dream, but we have to keep pushing.
I’m bringing this up as a point: many of us do have to settle for that meager job and allow those bills to pile up, but something that I keep preaching that must be done is self branding of YOU. You will get lost in the mix if your ‘fallback’ job is more ‘permanent’ than normal.
I’m Not A Fan of Working on Your Free Time, but I Do It A Lot
Working on your off-time is asking a lot of your health, happiness and family: also, if you’re currently working that dead-end shitty job, it’s working overtime! I work a lot! It’s taken a lot of free time to get to where I am in the field of website development, website design and understanding of the fundamentals and intricacies of branding yourself and getting you noticed on the internet (I don’t just settle for what I learned in college: I keep learning to gain knowledge and know-how for myself and my clients): I have to be honest and say that I don’t like the fact that I’ve given up a lot of that free time and energy, but I also understand that it has paid off. I love what I do, I appreciate the inspiring feedback I get from my freelance web development, web design and consultation work, my tutorials and more: all those people push me to move forward and keep ticking with the trends of the moving internet.
The positive thing to get out of this is that, yes, there is a healthy medium of working off-time to brand yourself: to get yourself prepared for that next step in evolution for your life: you DON’T have to be forced to live your existence working for a company who might take your pension away, fire you on a whim’s notice (usually for dumb-ass reasons, or a really lame-ass one), and – most of all – doesn’t appreciate you as who you are! America’s fundamentals are changing and we have to change to them to move ahead as individuals: in retirement ideas, that means finding out ways to get yourself noticed on the web as a guru in your field; this can help you find a niche to which you can retire from if you work hard enough – think about it!
Yes, it’s possible to land that dream job (and be around those whom like/love you for whom you are as an individual over how much you fake your ass for them! Yeah, you can find that job that pays ‘decent’, but forces you to cut your stupid mullet off, remove your piercings, refuses to hear you cussing, or expects you to stick your nose so far up your boss’ ass that you can’t breathe anything but fecal matter for six months even after being let go. No my friends, with all that’s going on, you need to look for that drive and ambition you have within you (without losing it) and find those jobs that allow you to be yourself.
SCREW Formalities and Professional Suggestions: All That Got Us Was Stupid Leaders Making Money and You Being at the Bottom of the Totem Pole Giving In!

Oh jeez! That’s a huge problem!
Yup, that’s all it got us: why else do you think all these websites suggest stupid things like ‘Remember to dress appropriately for your interview, or you will be shunned and not get the job’, or ‘Don’t overstate your qualifications; no one likes braggarts.’ This bull-shit is totally not true – if you have SKILLS and PROVEN TALENT, SHOW IT AND FLAUNT IT! If you read between the lines of all this ‘professional advice’, they are informing you to change the uniqueness of who you are inside to land that shitty job that will force you to change to a fucking robot! – DON’T DO IT!
And This is My Fucked-Up Theory Behind This Crap:
These methods and advice have brought us to where we are today: interviewees who DID dress for those jobs, DID follow the advice, and DID listen to all the other advice those ‘professionals’ taught them to land that job: well YOU KNOW WHAT? – All that did for the most part was remove those whom were most QUALIFIED for those whom knew how to bend shit sideways with listening to stupid advice and accept that low wage America is famous for among the majority of its qualified!. We now have a current professional American workforce that consists of brown-nosers, followers, ‘yes mam’ and ‘no sir’ employees who do it all too well.
But – for the vast majority of them – they don’t know their job from their left nut!
We have bosses who don’t know shit; they hire people people who are ‘yessum’ and ‘no-um sir’ people because they talk the talk and accept lower wage, and the resulting situation: our current crisis of dumb-asses running individual businesses, small enterprises, and – worst of all – the entire system (with some strategically placed individuals whom are the ‘brains’ controlling those puppets). All these men and women were desperate to land a job, their interviews went well because they did, and now they have the job and don’t know how to do it right (most, not all of them). Having too many morons running the businesses all over the country is just too catastrophic! Yes, currently our country is positioned in this crazy scenario, but we can change this by doing the following:
1 – Don’t listen to those stupid ‘professionals’ online who inform you to change who you are to land that job: unless you really need that temporary job, then it’s ok to change, but don’t forget who you really are and move on as soon as that opportunity arises for your personal success.
2 – Keep searching for that job that will appreciate you wearing all your metal even if it’s in your tongue (they have customers as the like), who appreciate you as a human regardless if you’re gay, bi, staight, metal-mouth, potty-mouth, love making out with straws, etc. – Just be you (ummm, just don’t make out with straws at the office, lol).
3 – Use Google Alerts to land that ‘niche’ dream-job: Google Alerts helps you receive the latest page posted with whatever keyword you are wanting updated info of online: Visit the Google Alerts page to see how easy it is to be the first-to-know of any keyword item you choose to get updates for! ‘Google Alert’ your keyword dream-job and you just might find it in time : )
4 – Brand yourself! – If you start today, you can start making connections that will influence your future: branding yourself brings you closer to who you are and closer to others whom are similar in nature: being patient with this will result in you finally meeting and greeting with some whom are like-minded and similar as yourself – and that gets your insides all tickly! – The idea here is that you are being YOU, and what results after that if you play your cards right, is a job you love (you don’t have to call it a job at that moment) instead of dealing with those bastards that play loser miniature golf for fun, have $200 peticures, don’t like to provide you with what you’re worth, etc. (unless, you are wanting to be in that realm – accept my apologies if that’s the case).
This Brings Up the Ironic Idea – and Question: DO You Need to Give Up Pieces of You When You Land That Temp Job
Of course! I mean, you could just keep giving in to those stupid advice columns on MSN.com and CareerBuilder.com, but what they fail to realize is that this world is vast with assortment of different types of people, ranges of success and careers: you don’t need to cater or change for those whom don’t like you for your genuineness and/or uniqueness: go for the gold my friends! Keep that temp job for the time being, but start looking for what’s going to make your life worth living. I say this with respect and care: I hope you all find what you’re looking for – I know I haven’t, but I’m closer!
